China and Hollywood

I recently read a New York Times article about the Chinese having an increasingly powerful role in decisions about Hollywood casting, movies and television. Since reading this article I have noticed at least one Chinese character included in most of the movies and tv shows I enjoy.

Q. Is this Chinese inclusion simply a technique to reach a larger market? Or it is evidence of China's growing power to dictate the world's media capitol, Hollywood?
A.   China has a goal of being involved in many things (if not everything) to show their growing power and importance as a key player in the world- they want their fair share of influence..  The goal is to be the next superpower, and one way to enable that to happen is win over a certain amount of influence and create some level of acceptance of people all over the world- a good way to do that is through media outlets that are seen everywhere.  I get an image of Chinese government officials censoring shows that about to be released (as if they have a certain amount of say in how they or their citizens are allowed to be portrayed??) to make sure they are represented in a specific way.  Then I hear something about when it comes to the media out of Hollywood "free speech isn't as free as everyone thinks" and they are dictated on what is allowed to a certain point.

Q. Combine this with recent articles in Forbes and the Washington Post about Chinese buying up prime real estate in the U.S. and it makes one wonder if the Chinese are making a move to take over the U.S. And are they working alongside the Jewish people, who seem to have gained power over most global industries?
A. I don't see them teamed up with Jewish people, but the Chinese do have the attention of the wealthy. It doesn't look like a partnership, but more like a race (I see two people lined up side by side on a running track.)  It has the appearance that there are key locations (I see extreme financial districts, and also key farming land west of the Mississippi) that are targets. China has money (specifically a lot of gold in reserve) and the US has a lot of value and potential (we provide a market to sell their goods and also have land that is priceless in terms of farming).  The Chinese do have a goal of taking over much of the US and having Americans work for them (buying products and working for their companies).

In closing, I got an image of Hollywood again, and how the things that occur in the media serve as a distraction while these major worldly transactions occur.  Bills are passed, laws get put into effect and major land / property transfers occur.  People are becoming more and more aware of these tactics, and the growing awareness is what will ultimately help us.

Who ever the person is who asked this question, I can't believe there are still people out there who seriously believe in a Jewish conspiracy to take over big global corporations and gain power.

I'm not saying anything about you Lynn, you were just answering the question, but the way this question was asked does not feel right to me. It's sounds like a classic frustrated way of looking at things and pointing at the jews.

Just had to speak my mind about this.

Lynn, another great reading. Thanks for answering my question.

You stated, "The Chinese do have a goal of taking over much of the US and having Americans work for them (buying products and working for their companies)."

With their own population of 1.35 billion people and millions of square meters of undeveloped rural land in China, why are the Chinese so interested in buying our land and making Americans their employees? Their dismal record on human rights abuses makes the idea of working under them a terrifying thought.

There was an interview with a Putin adviser in today's Bloomberg. This is the Russian perspective of the escalated violence in Ukraine after the MH17 crash:

“The point of a series of regional wars organized by the Americans, especially today’s catastrophe in Ukraine, centers on the U.S. securing control over all of north Eurasia” to bolster “its position against China,” Glazyev said. “That’s how the U.S. military and oligarchs are trying to maintain leadership in the global competition with China.”

China doesn't want any other nation, least of all America, "securing control" and "bolstering its position" against China.

The best way to do that is to destabilize the economies of America's allies. Therefore, China probably has given Russia an unlimited draw on her $2 trillion fund of USD. Russia is a major trading partner of America's European allies.

If Russia and Europe halt trading with each other, China's eventually worthless funds will keep Russia afloat. China knows that if the USD looses it reserve currency status, ITS HORDE OF THEM WILL LOSE ITS VALUE. MAYBE HALF ITS VALUE.

First, China is not afraid of this outcome. They know he who controls the debt controls destiny. The US can never take a hardline position against China because of the so-called nuclear option.

@Chatty Cathy: Thanks for the feedback. The biggest driving force I see is that China needs farmland to feed their huge population. A society that has their basic needs met is much easier to control. Starving people revolt...

@Unknown: Thank you for the info. I had not heard this or seen any of this perspective come through.

Quite a number of Hollywood productions try to increase a level of racism towards East Asians.

But the Chinese people do not protest.

When it comes to race relations in the west. Racism against east Asians is generally over looked
or ignored.

This has been going on for quite a while.

Unknown said...

The Western Media generally does this. Not just America.

I think there is a strong desire
to contain the strength of east
Asian states.

This tends to have a negative effect on people of east Asian
descent living in the west.

The racism faced by east Asians is quite unique.

On one level they are labelled as a successful minority that do not
really suffer from racism.

But that obviously is not the case.

This can be quite destructive actually. Other minorities such as blacks are very vocal in terms of race relations. So even a minor incident becomes an important one.

While with east Asians racial discrimination is generally ignored. It is not considered important.

You are a good source of information. A bit more would be nice.

You do a better job than the mainstream media.

I did not mean to take such a hostile tone in regards to Dzhokhar and the Boston Bombing.

But I am passionate on that subject. I have been facing many walls when it comes to this subject.

Chinese companies are buying up huge areas of dairy and beef production in Australia. Our govt is stupid enough to sell it to them rather than lease, as the Chinese did with Hong Kong.
The Chinese think 200 years into the future for their policies. Western govts, only to the next election.
